AMMAN — The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) on Saturday stressed that work in the field of the production, import, storage, transport and packaging of liquefied domestic gas is open to all.
In a statement in response to media reports related to amendments to import regulations for 2022 that the company's exclusive right to operate this field ended by the end of 2008, the end of the concession period, the JPRC said that a number of investors have already been granted approvals to build facilities to store liquefied gas, while other companies import this substance and distribute it to households and facilities.
On the exclusivity of empty domestic gas cylinders, the company said that the volume of this activity is very limited, with an estimated demand for 8,000 cylinders per month, equivalent to about JD250,000.
The statement also noted that a number of investors had previously imported domestic gas cylinders, while others, 10 years ago, constructed a factory for domestic gas cylinder production in the Kingdom.
