AMMAN — Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat on Tuesday referred a copy of the proposed amendments to the civil service by-law to Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour.
The amendments include articles agreed upon by the ministry and the Jordan Teachers Association.
The Civil Service Council will convene to discuss these amendments before referring them to the Cabinet for endorsement.
Also on Tuesday, Thneibat referred proposed amendments to education directorates under which teachers’ sick leave would be accredited by health centres and hospitals affiliated with the Health Ministry, bypassing the need for special sick leave forms, provided the requested leave does not exceed 48 hours.
