Qatar charity donates $1m to treat Syrian refugees in Jordan

AMMAN — The Jordan Red Crescent (JRC) and its Qatari counterpart on Wednesday signed an agreement under which the Qatar charity will donate $1 million to assist in the medical treatment of Syrian refugees in Jordan through signing contracts with Jordanian hospitals.
The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Sunday received medical supplies to Gaza worth more than $1 million from the professional associations.
Oasis500 Fund secured a $1 million investment from TIMAR Ventures, a Turkey-based venture capital fund, to be used in assisting IT entrepreneurs to establish their own enterprises.
Two Jordanian educators, recently selected among the top 50 finalists for “the world’s first $1 million” teacher prize, said their participation in the competition encouraged them to increase their efforts to give more to students and local communities.
