Rapist of Jordanian child executed in Dubai

AMMAN — Attorney General of Dubai Issam Hmeidan on Thursday announced the execution of Nidal Issa Abdullah, 50, who was convicted of premeditated murder, kidnapping and assault of eight-year-old Jordanian child Obaidah Ibrahim Sidqi Abdul Hadi.

Hmeidan said that the execution by firing squad was carried out earlier in the day after the sentence was endorsed by the criminal court, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The convict kidnapped the child while he was in front of his father’s workshop in Sharjah, before sexually assaulting the child while drunk and strangling him to death with a piece of cloth.

The cassation court of Dubai in February issued a unanimous decision to agree with the ruling of the court of appeal to implement the death penalty against the convict.
