Renewable energy expected to account for 16% of power used in 2019 — minister

AMMAN — Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Hala Zawati on Tuesday said that liquefied gas consumption amounted to 92 per cent of the power used in Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Zawati added that renewable energy contribution has reached 8 per cent of the total power used and is expected to increase to 16 per cent in 2019, compared to 84 per cent for liquefied gas.
She also noted that the ministry is following up on an oil pipeline project between Najaf City and Aqaba that would have a capacity of 1 million barrels a day.
