AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) announced that it will be operating two weekly scheduled flights to Algiers starting Thursday. The first flight took off from Queen Alia International Airport, heading to Algiers International Airport on Thursday, according to a statement from the national carrier.

The announcement was made during the joint Algerian-Jordanian ministerial meetings in Algeria, in which Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali took part.

Majali said that RJ is thrilled to add Algiers to the route network again. He added tha the company’s route expansion is in line with its strategic plan for the coming five years, which includes revisiting the operation feasibility of routes, reaching new destinations and promising markets, and boosting connectivity among its pillars.

Majali added that the new route will serve the Jordanian and Arab community residing in Algeria, Algerian citizens, students and businesspeople and enhance trade exchange.

He stressed that Algiers will add value to the network by linking Algeria with the Levant and the Gulf. Thus, it will meet the requirements and needs of customers, as well as support joint efforts to increase the number of tourists visiting the two countries by providing “distinguished travel services and experiences when they fly Royal Jordanian”.

The two weekly Amman-Algiers flights (Mondays and Thursdays) will be operated on RJ’s A320 aircraft.
