AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Youssef Issawi emphasised the crucial role of youth in highlighting Jordan's stances, under its Hashemite leadership, on issues affecting its nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
During the meeting on Monday at the Hashemite Royal Court with a delegation of young men and women from Zarqa Governorate, Issawi said that Jordan has always been and will continue to be a supporter and ally of the Palestinian people until they regain their rights and establish their independent state according to international legitimacy resolutions and the adopted references, according to a Royal Court statement.
He also noted that since the start of the "blatant" aggression on Gaza, Jordan has been leveraging its international and regional standing to stop the Israeli aggression and end the escalating humanitarian suffering faced by the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Issawi affirmed King Abdullah's commitment to holding the international community accountable for its legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities to seriously stop Israel from continuing its crimes against the Palestinian people and ensure the adequate and sustainable delivery of relief and medical aid to Gaza.
He also cited King Abdullah's affirmation that the region will not enjoy security and stability unless a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause is reached, fulfilling the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for freedom and independence and leading to the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Issawi added that Jordan will continue, based on the Hashemite guardianship, to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and to stand against any attempts to change the existing historical and legal status in Jerusalem.
He pointed to the significant role of Her Majesty Queen Rania in highlighting the reality of the injustice and destruction suffered by the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip under Israeli occupation.
He also highlighted the efforts of Crown Prince Hussein in supporting the royal efforts by directly overseeing the preparation and dispatch of the second Jordanian field hospital to Gaza and his close follow-up on securing aid.
He commended HRH Princess Salma's bravery in participating in one of the airdrop operations.
The speakers expressed their pride in the achievements across all sectors during King Abdullah's reign, noting that his wisdom and leadership have guided the nation towards excellence over the past 25 years, shielding it from regional crises and making Jordan a haven of security and stability.
They also praised Jordan's efforts to establish field hospitals in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid by land and air through airdrop operations.
