AMMAN — The Royal Court has so far initiated and sponsored 214 projects distributed all over the country, at a total cost of JD197 million.

Of these, 40 projects are under implementation at a cost of JD92 million, the Ministry of Public Works said in a statement Tuesday, following a meeting between Public Works Minister Sami Halaseh and Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi, attended by other concerned officials.

They discussed progress of projects in the pipeline and obstacles facing their implementation, the statement said.

Issawi also heads a committee entrusted with following up on Royal initiatives, under which the projects are designed, implemented and followed-up on by the ministry.

The Royal initiatives target various vital sectors with projects to build schools, health centres, youth centres, sports facilities and social care centres affiliated with the Social Development Ministry.

For his part, Issawi commended the ministry’s contribution and on-time completion of planned projects, ensuring the required quality and specifications.

Halaseh said that another meeting would be held later on to brief Issawi on the projects his ministry is implementing separately to synchronise government and Royal Court plans around the Kingdom.
