Royal Jordanian changes baggage policy

AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) is set to change its policy regarding baggage allowance from next month, limiting the number of bags travellers are allowed to check-in without charge as opposed to its current weight-based system, according to an RJ statement released Wednesday.
The new policy, which will apply to tickets purchased after October 15 for travel after November 2, allows economy passengers one piece of baggage each, the statement said.
Bags checked in economy class will be subject to a 30 kilogramme weight limit, while crown class passengers will be allowed two pieces of luggage with a 52 kilo total weight limit.
Passengers on flights to North America will be allowed two bags each, with weight limits of 23 and 32 kilos for economy and business class, respectively.
