AMMAN — The Royal University for Medical Sciences will start receiving students as of the beginning of the academic year (2013-2014), having obtained the accreditation of the Higher Education Council, Royal Medical Services Director General Maj. Gen. Abdul Aziz Zeyadat said on Monday.

The university will accept students for the first academic semester in the specialisations of medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, nursing and supplementary medical professions, he said.

Children of Royal Army Forces serving and retired personnel can compete for 6 per cent of the university's seats at the faculty of medicine, he added, pointing out that the first stage of the university building, built on the airport road at the area of Qastal, is scheduled to be completed next month.
