Safadi meets Erekat, US special envoy

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and US special envoy for international negotiations Jason Greenblatt  on Tuesday discussed efforts to resume the Middle East peace process and means to enhance Jordanian-US ties.

Safadi briefed Greenblatt, who will attend Wednesday’s Arab summit, on efforts exerted to fight terrorism and defeat Daesh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Separately, Safadi met with Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat and highlighted the importance of the Arab summit in activating joint Arab action, as well as ensuring the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the need to achieve peace based on the two-state solution, Petra added.
