Security measures in place ahead of holiday celebrations

AMMAN — The Public Security Department (PSD) on Monday said it would take intensive security measures during celebrations of Christmas and the new year.
In a statement, the PSD said police personnel and patrols will be deployed in areas where celebrations are taking place.
The PSD also called on citizens not to leave their homes for long hours and not to leave behind valuable objects.
In case of emergency, citizens can dial 191, 190, 194 and 911, the PSD said.
The Public Security Department (PSD) on Saturday said it has taken all measures to maintain order and security when the Education Ministry announces the Tawjihi results this week.
The Public Security Department (PSD) on Wednesday concluded preparations to launch the second phase of the Command and Control Centre’s 911 hotline to include the Kingdom’s governorates.
Snow is expected to fall in Amman and other high-altitude areas across the Kingdom on Friday and Saturday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
