AMMAN — The Senate’s Palestine Committee on Thursday condemned Israel’s intention to enact a law that could potentially bans the call to prayer in Jerusalem.
Committee President Senator Haya Qaralleh said in a statement, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that such provocative acts only fuel religious conflicts in the region.
The senator expressed the panel’s rejection of all other Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The committee urged the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities to pressure Israel into putting a stop to such acts, resuming peace negotiations and accepting the two-state solution.
