Senate panel rejects House’s version of civil retirement bill

AMMAN — The Senate’s Legal Committee on Sunday insisted on a decision regarding the draft civil retirement law which was returned from the Lower House.
If the Senate adopts its Legal Committee’s resolution on the law that regulates the retirement of ministers, senators and deputies, a joint session for the Lower House and the Senate will be held according to Article 92 of the Constitution.
For the draft law to pass, a majority vote of two-thirds must stand.
