By JT - Dec 24,2016 - Last updated at Dec 24,2016

AMMAN — The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) is scheduled to reopen Shomari Wildlife Reserve next week, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.

Shomari Wildlife Reserve Manager Ashraf Halah said that after five years of closure for maintenance, the reserve has a new visitor centre that includes a meeting hall and a cafeteria that will be operated by local residents.

The reserve now has hiking trails that enable visitors to watch animals at their natural habitat, such as the Arabian oryx, the goitered gazelle and Houbara bustard.
