AMMAN — The Criminal Investigation Department on Monday arrested a man involved in recent acts of vandalism that took place in Amman.
According to the department, the man is suspected of terrorising citizens and robbing them, and shooting police and Gendarmerie forces during protests against the government’s decision to lift fuel subsidies.
Police on Sunday announced the arrest of two men in connection with the robbery of and acts of vandalism against several banks in the Kingdom during riots last Wednesday following the government’s decision to lift fuel subsidies.
A masked man who tried to rob an accountant working at a government agency last month, turned out to be his colleague, police said Thursday.
Two wanted suspects were reportedly killed during a shootout with police on Monday in the North Hashemi suburb of Amman, official sources said.
