Symposium to highlight new pest management strategies

AMMAN — The First International Symposium on Horticultural Insects Management opens on Monday in Amman.
Participants at the four-day event will discuss challenges related to providing quality food at reasonable prices and protecting plants from pests and diseases, according to a statement issued by the Regional Centre on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development for the Near East, which is organising the conference.
Scientists from around 17 countries are expected to take part in the event, which will also provide a platform for discussing the latest advances in pest management strategies.
The First International Symposium on Horticultural Insects Management concluded on Thursday in Amman.
His Majesty King Abdullah receives a plaque from the Royal Medical Services as he attended the opening session of the Fifth International Conference of the Royal Medical Services on the shores of the Dead Sea.
