Symposium on pest management concludes

AMMAN — The First International Symposium on Horticultural Insects Management concluded on Thursday in Amman.
Participants at the four-day event called for turning it into an annual conference. They also stressed the need to publish the research papers discussed at the meeting to reach a wider audience.
The conference, organised by the Regional Centre on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development for the Near East, covered challenges related to providing quality food at reasonable prices and protecting plants from pests and diseases.
Scientists from around 14 countries took part in the event.

Deputising for Her Majesty Queen Rania, HRH Princess Sumaya on Thursday inaugurated an international conference on peace organised by the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organisations in cooperation with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
HRH Princess Basma on Monday highlighted the Kingdom’s achievements in the medical sector at the opening of the 12th internal medicine conference.
