AMMAN — Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni on Monday attended the opening of a new comprehensive government service centre in Zarqa.

The centre includes 10 governmental agencies and provides 70 public services six days a week from 9am to 9pm. The Ministry of Justice in February 2020 opened the first comprehensive government service centre, as by the end of last year, about 168,000 documents were completed, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The new centre includes representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Foreign Ministry, the Department of Land and Survey and the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department, Borders and Residency Directorate of the Public Security Directorate and Civil Status and Passport Department, among others.

Talhouni, during the ceremony, said that the move is aimed at facilitating legal procedures and providing access to justice-related services to citizens and lawyers, as well as easing the pressure of ministries and official departments.

Highlighting the ministry’s efforts towards establishing comprehensive government service centres across the Kingdom, Talhouni said another centre will be opened in Karak, southern region, soon.
