Tarawneh continues consultations with parliamentary blocs

AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh on Wednesday continued consultations with parliamentary blocs to agree on the next prime minister.
Tarawneh met with the 17-member Future bloc, headed by Deputy Talal Sharif at Basman Palace.
Also Wednesday, the Islamist Centrist Party’s House bloc invited all parliamentary blocs and independent deputies to meet on Friday in Parliament to examine the possibility of forming a coalition that agrees on the objectives that the next premier should meet.
Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh on Wednesday briefed ambassadors to Jordan on his consultations with Lower House deputies over the choice for the next prime minister.
The National Union Party bloc on Saturday nominated incumbent Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour to head the upcoming government during a meeting with Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh.
At least one House bloc has officially declared its support for incumbent Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour to head the first parliamentary government in decades.
