Terror attack claims seventh victim

AMMAN — Lance Corporal Rashad Talafha was laid to rest on Thursday in Irbid after succumbing to the injuries he sustained in the terror attack on a military post serving refugees in the Rakban area near the northeastern border with Syria at dawn on Tuesday.

The death of Talafha, who was among the 14 injured, raises the number of troops killed in the terror attack to seven.

A representative of King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben and senior officials and officers attended the funeral, according to a statement by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.

Also on Thursday, deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Prince Feisal extended condolences to Talafha's family, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Hani Mulki extended condolences to the families of fallen troops Khader Hajji, Ahmad Sbeihi, Anas Asmar, Noureddine Tweisat and Bilal Zu'bi.
