Three men detained over Nazal stabbing death

AMMAN — The Criminal Court prosecutor on Saturday questioned three men in connection with the death of a man following a brawl over the weekend in an Amman neighbourhood, official sources said.

The victim was reportedly stabbed on Thursday night in Nazal neighbourhood following a brawl between a group of people, Police Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said.

“We still do not know who is responsible or the reasons behind the stabbing incident,” Sartawi told The Jordan Times, adding that police rounded up a group of men on Friday and seized a knife.

“We sent the weapon to the criminal lab for further examination,” he said.

Meanwhile, a judicial source said that three suspects are currently being questioned by the Criminal Court prosecutor in connection with the incident.

“The prosecutor is still questioning the suspects and witnesses to determine who the real perpetrator is,” the judicial source said.

The suspects will remain in custody pending further investigations, the judicial source added.
