Two first graders injured in ceiling collapse

IRBID — Two first grade students at the Sahem Elementary School for Girls in Irbid were injured on Sunday when parts of the ceiling in their classroom collapsed.
Bani Kinanah District Director Bader Qadi said the students were immediately taken to Al Yarmouk Educational Hospital, where they were reported to be in good condition.
He noted that the district has allocated JD15,000 to carry out maintenance work this year, adding that students of the school in question will be moved to nearby schools until renovations are completed.
The ceiling of a classroom in Dirar Bin Al Azwar School in the Deir Alla District collapsed at dawn on Sunday.
A fire on Thursday consumed 700 dunums of dry weed and bushes in Yarmouk area in Irbid's Bani Kinanah District, close to the Syrian border.
