TAFILEH — Two vehicles parked in Oreim Square in the southern Governorate of Tafileh were set on fire on Sunday.
Tafileh Civil Defence Department personnel put out the fire and no injuries were reported, but the vehicles were destroyed.
Nine vehicles have been set on fire since the beginning of this year, but no one has been held accountable, according to citizens.
The Tafileh police are currently investigating Sunday’s incident.
Two men who allegedly threatened to immolate themselves in Tafileh were prevented from doing so after police and bystanders intervened, a Public Security Department official said on Sunday.
A group of unidentified people on Saturday set fire to five public vehicles in Tafileh following a ceremony organised by the major tribes in the southern city.
Two people were severely injured after the bed of a tipper truck fell on them while they were repairing the vehicle, Tafileh Civil Defence Department (CDD) Director Col. Nayef Nawaiseh said Sunday.
