US ambassador visits Jordan Press Foundation

AMMAN — US Ambassador to Jordan Stewart Jones visited the Jordan Press Foundation (JPF) on Wednesday and was acquainted with its achievements and future projects, according to Al Rai daily.
JPF Chairman Ali Al Ayed, JPF Director General Omran Kheir and chief editors of The Jordan Times and Al Rai, Samir Barhoum and Samir Hiyari met with Jones and highlighted the JPF’s mission and vision.
The Jordan Times will not be published on Tuesday due to a one-day strike to be observed Monday by the employees of the Jordan Press Foundation (JPF) which also publishes Al Rai Arabic daily.
Employees of the Jordan Press Foundation (JPF) on Wednesday condemned the storming of their offices by Gendarmerie Forces as the board of directors failed to immediately meet their demands to stop a month-long protest.
The Jordan Press Foundation (JPF) on Sunday elected Samih Maaytah as board chairman and Mansour Nabulsi as deputy chairman during a board meeting following a general assembly meeting that was held earlier in the day.
