AMMAN — The Scientific Research Fund on Sunday signed 44 scholarship agreements for higher education students who have achieved top marks at Jordanian universities, with 38 MA and six PhD scholarships awarded, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The fund’s Director General Abeer Al Bawab said that the value of scholarships awarded to students enrolled in higher education programmes in the first semester of 2016/2017 was JD609,000, noting that there were 153 applications for MAs and 10 applications for PhDs.

Bawab said that 121 students met the conditions necessary for the MA level, while eight students were eligible for the PhD scholarships, two of whom cancelled their applications. The PhD scholarships were all for female students, while 89.5 per cent of MA scholarships went to female students, Bawab added.

THIS SHOULD NOT COME AS A SUPRIZE BECAUSE IT IS KNOWN THAT THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF WOMEN ARE FAR MORE HIGHER THAT THOSE OF THEIR MEN COUNTER PARTS EVEN THOUGH WOMEN ARE RARELY SEEN IN THE LEADERSHIP POSITIONS IN JORDAN BECAUSE THEIR PROMOTIONS ENDS UP IN THE KITCHENS. AND SO, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH THIS STATISTICS????????
CAN THE JORDANIAN GOVERNMENT EXPLAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
