Work starts next year on JD13m Aqaba Cultural Centre

AMMAN — Culture Minister Nabih Shuqum on Thursday announced that work on the projected Aqaba Cultural Centre will start in early 2017, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The building will cost JD13 million, Shuqum added.

During a ceremony to conclude the activities of Aqaba as the 2016 Jordanian city of culture, the minister said the diversity in Aqaba made 2016 a distinguished year for culture in the Kingdom. He congratulated Mafraq on being selected as the city of culture for 2017.
