Work under way to establish medical university

AMMAN — The Royal University for Medical Sciences board of trustees on Thursday held its first meeting to discuss issues regarding its establishment.
Construction work on the university began on September 1, in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives.
The college is being built on a 120-dunum plot near the airport road, with a 4,000-student capacity.
In addition to supplying the market with professional medical staff, the university will provide around 800 job opportunities.
Bahrain will continue to establish projects in Jordan to support Syrian refugees, Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chairman of the Bahraini Royal Charity Organisation’s board of trustees, said on Monday.
HRH Princess Sarvath Al Hassan, chairwoman of the Amman Baccalaureate School’s board of trustees, recently inaugurated the ABS’ Randa Kawar Building, exclusively equipped for its grade 11 and 12 students, according to a statement released Sunday.
HH Prince Mired, president of the Hashemite Charity Society for Soldiers with Special Needs, on Sunday met with Amer Sadoun, chairman of the Royal University for Medical Science’s board of directors, and discussed cooperation.
