AMMAN — Minister of Health Abdul Latif Wreikat on Monday said the ministry’s hospitals will need more staff, adding that the ministry can no longer grant employees any leave without pay to maintain proper services, according to a Health Ministry statement.

The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Civil Service Bureau President Khalaf Hmeisat and Jordan Nurses and Midwives Association President Mohammad Hatamleh.

The ministry, he noted, will open the Zarqa and Northern Badia hospitals before the end of June and expand other hospitals.

This will require the appointment of doctors, nurses and technicians, the minister pointed out.
