Zakat Fund holds iftar for orphans

AMMAN — The Zakat Fund on Sunday held an iftar banquet for orphans in cooperation with the Awqaf Ministry, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The banquet was held as part of celebrating the Orphan Day in the Muslim world organised by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
Zakat Fund Director General Abed Smeirat delivered a speech highlighting the value of helping orphans mentioned in the Koran and Hadith (sayings of Prophet Mohammad). Smeirat also distributed gifts to the orphans.
