AMMAN — Titleholders Riyadi Aramex play Applied Science University (ASU) on Friday in the final of the 10th Jordan Basketball Cup. Riyadi eliminated Ittihad Schools 61-60 while ASU beat Kulieh 95-50 in the semis of the event last weekend. The tournament comes as the start of the season as teams prepare for the tip off of the Premier Basketball League. Riyadi are also readying to play at the Dubai International Tournament in mid-January against some of the best regional clubs. “We have a young line-up, but we are looking forward to the competition,” Fadi Sabbah, Riyadi secretary general, told The Jordan Times. He said the team was ready for the Jordan Cup final adding that tournaments like the Dubai International would add much needed competitive readiness to the squad. Riyadi have just signed Ashrraff Dabbas, Darin Dorsey and Alpha Bangura, and will have Sani Sakakini join as well for the local league.
