Queen Alia airport witnesses rise in passengers, cargo movement

AMMAN — For the fifth month in a row, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) registered a growth in its number of passengers, welcoming 599,683 passengers in October 2017, a 12.6 per cent increase compared to the same month of last year.

QAIA also experienced a 12.6 per cent improvement in cargo figures compared to October 2016, handling 9,950 tonnes. Meanwhile, the airport recorded 5,536 aircraft movements, a 1.7 per cent year-on-year decrease, according to statistics announced by the Airport International Group and e-mailed to The Jordan Times Monday.

Additionally, as of the end of October, QAIA had received a total of 6,802,053 passengers in 2017, witnessing a 6.6 per cent increase in passenger traffic in comparison to the same period in 2016.
