AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have foiled an attempt to smuggle 100,000 narcotic pills, and arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the case, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.

After obtaining relevant information, AND agents headed to Zarqa, where a drug deal was taking place. They seized 100,000 narcotic pills and arrested three suspects in an ambush. Meanwhile, AND personnel arrested two suspects of drug trafficking in possession of narcotic pills and a firearm in Central Badia, Petra added.

In Mafraq, another AND team raided an apartment, which was used as a safe house for storing narcotic pills, and arrested 10 suspects, who were in possession of 10,000 pills, amounts of cannabis and two weapons.

Suspects were referred to the State Security Court’s prosecutor office.
