The London conference: Jordan is open for business and investment

Feb 14,2019 - Last updated at Feb 14,2019

Jordan is at a very important crossroad at the end of this month; the London conference, which is scheduled to be held on February 28.

With the presence of the international community, as well as leaders and investors from different parts of the world, Jordan is to showcase success stories, opportunities and areas where it needs further support and assistance from the international community.

In terms of success stories, Jordan has made some remarkable reforms and has passed laws to enhance private-sector growth.

In terms of opportunities, Jordan has several investment opportunities in strategic infrastructure and growth projects, not to mention opportunities in entrepreneurism and technology.

Jordan’s economic future relies on growth, and to reach the growth, it needs four major drivers.

Firstly, the support and assistance from its allies and friends from the international community to help fund the execution of projects, especially infrastructural projects in the transport, energy, water, education, logistics, tourism and health sectors.

Second, the creation of a successful partnership with the private sector. Third, the government needs to attract foreign direct investments and enhance and grow the exports of products and services.

Fourth, create better access to finance of small and medium enterprises in order for this important sector to create jobs, especially for women, and to be more profitable so it could be a major contributor to the economy.

We hope that Jordan is well-prepared for this important event and that the private sector, as well as the public sector, is aligned on the objectives and goals well before the end of this month on what was
mentioned.
