AMMAN — Orange Jordan concluded the eighth season of “BIG by Orange”, the start-ups growth accelerator programme, as five start-ups graduated in an online event.

CEO of Orange Jordan Thierry Marigny, members of the steering committee and media representatives attended the event, according to a statement from the telecoms company.

The graduate start-ups are Tanda, a platform for financial solutions, BOB for business e-commerce solutions, Accessible Jordan for services that enhance inclusion of persons with disabilities, ION, a network and app for electric vehicles and Ship Cash for integrated logistic financial solutions.

Marigny congratulated the graduates of the programme, affirming that the eighth season of BIG reflects the company’s commitment as “a responsible digital leader to empower and support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jordan”.

He noted that the start-ups offer solutions that cater to society’s needs, contribute to economic development and enhance the role of innovative youth in finding job opportunities and establishing feasible projects.

Deputy Chief PR, CSR and Corporate Communication Rana Al Dababneh thanked the programme’s steering committee members while highlighting the importance of BIG as a sustainable programme under Orange Jordan’s corporate social responsibility strategy, as the programme offers mentorship, financial, technical, marketing and media support as well as networking opportunities.

Dababneh stated that “this season was special thanks to BIG partnering with Changelabs, a leading accelerator in the region”, to run the eight-month programme, allowing start-ups in early stages to access the international entrepreneurial community, mentors, and coaches, in addition to Orange Jordan’s supporting start-ups to participate in “Viva Technology”, one of the biggest entrepreneurial events worldwide, according to the statement.
