‘Princess Muna honours nurses for esteemed career’

AMMAN — HRH Princess Muna, president of the Jordanian Nursing Council and patron for nursing and midwifery in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, on Tuesday honoured a number of nurses and midwives who had completed 25 years of work.

President of the Jordan Nurses and Midwives Council (JNMC) Khaled Rababah said that the nursing sector received ongoing support from the Hashemite leadership, pointing out that Jordanian nurses have contributed to establishing health sectors in several countries. 

During the ceremony, held by the Jordan Nurses Association, Rababah also said that the association aimed to protect and defend its 36,000 members, in addition to improving their competencies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Adviser to Princess Muna Ruwaidah Maaitah stated that the event does not only aim to celebrate the group of nurses but also to show Her Highness’ pride in Jordan’s achievements in the field, which contributed in developing the profession of nursing.

Ghada Ammar, who represented the honoured nurses, expressed her appreciation to Princess Muna for her ongoing support to nurses and she also thanked the association for holding the ceremony, pointing out that the association had taken serious steps in developing and protecting nurses. 

At the end of the ceremony, Rababah praised Princess Muna and Health Ministry secretary general, Hikmat Abu Foul.
