‘280 drug cases registered in west Irbid in 8 months’

DEIR ABI SAID — The West Irbid Public Security Department’s anti-narcotics section has registered 280 drug cases in the Kurah, Northern Ghor and Taibeh districts since its establishment eight months ago, Maj. Ahmad Shoubaki, head of the section, said Tuesday.
In a brainstorming session organised by Nissa Al Awn Association for Orphans in the Kufr Al Maa area, Shoubaki said the biggest case the section dealt with included the cultivation of 750 kilogrammes of marijuana.
He also said studies revealed that most drug addicts are between 17 and 28 years old.
