AMMAN — The Abdali project is among the most successful multi-purpose investment and development projects in Jordan, and a model of partnership between the public and private sectors, Minister of Investment Khuloud Saqqaf said on Monday.

During a tour of the project, in the presence of the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abdali Investment and Development Amer Al Fayez, Saqqaf commended Jordan’s investment environment, noting that it is capable of attracting international investors who consider it very suitable for their projects, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry is interested in following up on investment projects, communicating with investors to identify their future aspirations, overcoming any potential challenges.

She also reviewed the most important government reforms conducted to enhance Jordan's investment environment, including the approval of the investment environment law and the establishment of the Ministry of Investment to be the main reference point for investment in the Kingdom.

During the tour, the Ministry of Investment agreed to promote the second phase of the Abdali project once the comprehensive plan and preliminary feasibility studies are completed on the "Invest in Jordan" platform, as a highly competitive local investment opportunity.

Fayez said that the launch of the second phase of the Abdali project, to be constructed on an area of 134,000 square metres with a development area of 1.4 million square metres, will take place during the upcoming months.

The $5-billion project has successfully attracted foreign and Arab investments totalling more than $2.4 billion, and has created around 13,000 job opportunities.
