Agreement signed to launch Water Sector Infrastructure Project in Amman

AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and Irrigation with the support of USAID is scheduled to implement a new package of miscellaneous water networks in Amman under the Water Sector Infrastructure Project.
The project will cover 26 locations within the Amman Governorate, including Shafa Badran, Marka, Jubaiha, Sahab and others, according to a statement from the Water Ministry.
The scope of work is mainly related to the installation of about 45km main water pipelines with diameter ranging between 400mm and 25mm, including all fittings accessories.
Minister of Water and Irrigation Motasem Saidan presided over the signing ceremony of the project agreement. The project is estimated at $3,539,188, of which 85 per cent to be funded by USAID and 15 per cent by the Water Authority of Jordan, according to the statement.
