He also received several medals, including the Kawkab Medal of the first order, the Istiqlal Medal of the first order and the Nahda Medal, in addition to medals from Arab and foreign countries.

Lozi obtained a bachelor’s degree in literature from the Teachers Training College in Baghdad in 1950, after which he worked as a teacher in Salt Secondary School and Al Hussein Secondary School in Amman between 1950 and 1953.

In 1956, he was appointed head of Royal protocol. In 1961, he was elected as a member of the Lower House representing Amman, and re-elected as an MP in 1962.

Lozi was appointed as minister of state for prime ministry affairs in 1964 and was a senator between 1965 and 1967.

He served as chief of the Royal Court between 1979 and 1984, before assuming the post of Senate president from 1984 till 1997.

On June 7, 1997, a Royal decree was issued accepting Lozi’s resignation from the Senate.

Since 2000, he was chairman of board of trustees of the University of Jordan.

In April 2011, His Majesty King Abdullah ordered the formation of a Royal committee, headed by Lozi, tasked with revisiting the Constitution.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and Senate President Abdur-Ra’uf S. Rawabdeh paid tribute to Lozi on Tuesday.
