Aqwaf Ministry to start weekly scientific councils in Ramadan

AMMAN — Awqaf Ministry Preaching and Guidance Directorate Director Ismail Al Khatba on Wednesday said the Hashemite Scientific Councils will begin a discussion of the four Madhhabs (schools of thought) in Islam on Friday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The councils, which are held under Royal patronage, will be held every Friday during the fasting month of Ramadan with the participation of scholars from Jordan and other Arab and Islamic countries, with the aim of teaching people to respect different schools of thought despite their different opinions and to abolish extremism and bias, Khatba said, adding that the ministry will hold parallel scientific councils around the Kingdom through its directorates.
