Awareness lecture on CRPD for deaf Jordanian women held

AMMAN — A group of three deaf women leaders presented a lecture on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce recently. Fifty-eight deaf women from three governorates (Amman, Zarqa and Irbid) attended the lecture, a statement said.

This lecture is part of a deaf community project funded by ABILIS, a Finnish NGO focused on educating and empowering girls and women with disabilities in developing countries. The lecture was followed by discussions on the impact CRPD has had on the lives of deaf people, as well as the challenges they have previously faced.
