AMMAN — In response to Royal Jordanian’s (RJ) request for proposals for the future fleet renewal, Brazil’s Embraer on Wednesday presented in Amman its value proposition for the Jordanian airline, introducing the latest updates of its new E2 aircraft family.

Jorge Ramos, CEO of Embraer in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), noted that “the E2 family represents the most advanced solution to compete efficiently and profitably, while offering unmatched remarkable experiences to the passengers”.

The director remarked that the proximity of the certification of the E190-E2 commercial jet, expressing that “this way, Embraer is demonstrating its excellence and expertise with the development of a new programme on time, on specification and on budget”.

“Embraer is just as happy for Royal Jordanian to consider sourcing the aircraft from one of our lessor partners as directly from us, and we will support both structures equally to ensure that the fleet transition is smooth and at minimal cost,” Ramos said, adding that “the new fleet operates to the very highest standards expected by Royal Jordanian and its passengers”.

Several RJ representatives were present at the event, showing keenness to start a new partnership with the Brazilian aerospace conglomerate.

However, the representatives raised concerns over Embraer’s ability to serve the customers in the Middle East, noting that 15,000 of the 18,000 employees of the company are based in Brazil.

Regarding this matter, Ramos highlighted that the company will soon open a new training centre in South Africa to expand the activity in the EMEA region, reassuring that “Embraer has its presence proved in all areas of the world.”
