Cabinet approves hazardous materials draft framework law

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved the mandating reasons for a draft framework law pertaining to the management, control and inspection of hazardous materials for 2022.

The bill offers a comprehensive framework for each material that poses a threat to mankind, animals, properties and the environment, and aims to regulate the work of authorities concerned with the inspection of hazardous materials, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In the implementation of the requirements of the Jordanian Policy for Artificial Intelligence 2020, which includes the development of a general strategic framework to activate artificial intelligence in all the Kingdom's priority sectors, the Council of Ministers approved the Jordanian Strategy for Artificial Intelligence for the years 2023-2027.

During the session, the Cabinet also passed a draft bylaw amending the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs' administrative management system for 2022.
