AMMAN — Social Development Minister Wajih Azaizeh on Tuesday instructed his ministry’s field managers to prohibit any charitable organisations to take part in election campaigns for candidates in upcoming municipal and local elections, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Azaizeh said charities’ involvement is not allowed whether through their cadres, volunteers, or any of their assets in order to maintain the integrity and legality of the election process. Field inspection teams were formed to visit electoral centres to follow up on the matter.
