AMMAN — The Central Criminal Investigation Department (CID) branch has arrested members of a suspected eight-strong criminal gang for allegedly forging passports and official papers in order to sell a piece of land worth JD750,000 in Balqa, 35km northwest of Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.

The Public Security Department said that an investigation team arrested the suspects before the transaction could take place.

The team managed to arrest six suspects, with the two others still on the run. The CID confiscated documents related to the deal, copies of fake passports, four printers and a laptop, in addition to three blank ID cards and a fake note detector machine.
