Culture ministers’ conference adopts Jordan proposal on Jerusalem heritage

AMMAN — Participants of the 10th Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers, which began on Tuesday in Khartoum, have adopted Jordan’s proposal to protect the Islamic and Christian heritage in Jerusalem.
During the conference, organised by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation under the theme “Towards a sustainable cultural development of future cities in the Islamic world”, Culture Minister Nabih Shuqum stressed the importance of having a clear text on the protection of Islamic and Christian heritage in Jerusalem.
Palestinian Culture Minister Ihab Bseiso commended Jordan’s role in safeguarding Jerusalem’s holy sites, highlighting the importance of the proposal in maintain the city’s landmarks, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
