Fakhoury urges donors to offer soft loans to countries affected by conflict

AMMAN — Planning and International Cooperation Minister Imad Fakhoury on Thursday urged the international community, donors, UN bodies and international financing institutions to examine the possibility of providing soft loans to countries affected by crises and conflicts.
During a meeting with French Ambassador to Jordan Caroline Dumas, in the presence of French Development Agency Representative to Jordan Serge Snrech, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed cooperation in the fields of economics and development.
Fakhoury thanked the French government for its humanitarian support for Syrian refugees in the region, especially in Jordan, highlighting the challenges and burdens borne by the Kingdom in this regard.
The ambassador stressed France’s support for Jordan.
