Fayez calls for global action to tackle climate change at Bosphorus summit

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday said that climate change has become a pressing priority that needs a global action. Speaking during the Istanbul-held 12th Bosphorus Summit, Fayez said that more than 20 per cent of the Kingdom’s inhabitants are non-Jordanians with the majority of them being refugees, highlighting the increasing pressure on economic sources.

He also said that poor rainfall this year threatens the agriculture sector in Jordan, adding that the Kingdom is among the water-poorest countries, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Fayez also commended the Jordanian-Turkish relations, calling for advancing the two countries’ ties in various fields.
