AMMAN — Interior Minister Salameh Hammad and EU Ambassador to Jordan Maria Hadjitheodosiou on Wednesday discussed means of boosting bilateral cooperation, especially in the development and economic fields.
The meeting tackled mechanisms of enhancing the response to challenges resulting from the refugee crises in the Kingdom and supporting local host communities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hammad underlined the ministry's commitment to further cooperation and networking with the EU, commending the union's role in supporting the development and economic projects implemented across the Kingdom.
He pointed out that development is an "integral part" of the ministry's strategy, adding that it "works relentlessly", in line with Royal directives, to achieve sustainable development and implement projects that tap governorates' strengths.
Hadjitheodosiou said that the European organisation is looking to develop its projects in Jordan and increase aid to enable it to overcome the challenges and difficulties facing the local economy, Petra reported.
